Queen Creek Arizona Information & History

Queen Creek offers many things to new visitors and residents. The area takes great pride in the history of the area and the rural, small town atmosphere in which the town was founded. Queen Creek's name originated over a hundred miles away in the mountains to the east surrounding Superior. This area had more then one mine at the time. At the base of the mine there was a creek known as the Picket Post Creek. It was named after the mountain that was directly above it.

The Silver Queen Mine opened and when it did the name of the Picket Post Creek was changed to the current choice of Queen Creek. That creek runs down from the mountains, through the Queen Creek Canyon, and into the area surrounding the present day Town of Queen Creek.

The area is known for their high quality amenities such as a community center with a youth center, a new golf course, and a library. Tourists and residents flock to the many annual events that occur in Queen Creek. The fourth of July celebration is always very popular. The seasonal festivals are also very popular, as are the summer crop festivals that allow people to pick their own fruits and vegetables.

Residents and community leaders do everything they can to preserve the Town's friendly, small town spirit while providing as many opportunities for growth and improvement as possible.

It has been said that newcomers are drawn to the breathtaking mountain views and the residential neighborhoods that offer everything from affordable homes to more scenic ranch properties.
