The owners of the myriad of food trucks in Baltimore are coming together for “The Gathering” on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 5-10pm at Harbor East!
The best part about the neat event? That some of the proceeds will go to “There Goes My Hero“, which is a non-profit organization that works to match leukemia patients with bone marrow donors.
As many of you know, I love the Kooper’s Chowhound Burger Wagon, and visit whenever I am in the area where it is serving customers.
A bunch of newer Baltimore Food Trucks who service Downtown Baltimore will be there as well. Miss Shirley’s, Souper Freak, GrrChe and Gypsy Queen are all confirmed, as is Silver Platter, who is in this location on an almost daily basis , and has been behind the planning of this event.
The location is 421 S Central Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21231 . It is a vac

Buyers are in love with neighborhoods such as Allandale, Travis Heights, Zilker, Barton Hills, Hyde Park, East Austin, etc., but cannot find an acceptable home to purchase in the Central Austin areas they love.
A couple of months ago we did get lucky and find a newer home in an older Allandale area and my buyers got exactly what they wanted at the price they wanted. More recently though, after exhausting all available inventory in Allandale, a different set of buyers finally gave up. W

House prices increased slightly last month, according to the bank Halifax, although the market still faces “significant headwinds” as household finances come under pressure.
House prices were 1.2% higher month on month in June with the average home costing £163,049, the lender said.
Low interest rates and higher employment are likely to have been the main factors behind the improvement in price trends, the Halifax said.
Despite the month-on-month improvement, the Halifax said it expects pressure on housing demand to continue.
Housing economist Martin Ellis said: “Low interest rates, an increase in the number of people in employment and some tightening in market conditions earlier in the year are likely to have been the main factors behind the recent improvement in price trends.

In a post today from CNN’s “State of the Union” interview with HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan, Bloomberg reports that house prices are unlikely to decline further, and they expect to see a rise in prices in the third quarter.
This is due to the reduction in number of people defaulting on their mortgages, down 40% over the same time last year.
Also, in general, across the U.S., home sales have risen over the past six months. See more details in the Bloomberg article and the CNN interview with Secretary Donovan.
Secretary Donovan said according to the CNN interview,
“Foreclosures are coming down. They’re down about 40 percent since last year,” said Donovan, who joined President Barack Obama’s Cabinet in 2009. “So, we are m
