El Mirage Arizona Information & History

El Mirage may appear to be your everyday sleepy small town village, though today they are welcoming the growth and change needed to raise their community on various levels. El Mirage boasts the residential neighborhood and small town appeal that many new homebuyers are looking for. They may have been a small town at one time, but look out for all they have to offer, as the changes are made you will see the much more progressive side of this small up and coming town.

El Mirage is located, nestled along the western banks of the Agua Fria River, where the area was originally settled by migrant farm workers in 1937. This community, now known as El Mirage, is currently 11 square miles and was incorporated in 1951.

El Mirage offers everyone a warm, small town atmosphere that has always been readily available since day one. As the community continues to grow, planning to reach 20,000 residents in the very near future, they continue to embrace the family values, friendship, and long standing traditions that made this community what it is.

El Mirage is quickly becoming one of the West Valley's residential hot spots. El Mirage is expected to build 7,500 homes in a dozen subdivisions over the next decade. Thanks to the areas exceptional family values, the beautiful scenery that fills the area, and the affordable housing, many new residents arrive in the El Mirage area each year.

El Mirage is a perfect small down for lazy beautiful days. Take the day and enjoy the sun. Go on a picnic, watch a sunset, or go for a walk on one of the many trails. One place you can do many of those things is the Lake Pleasant Regional Park. The park offers boating, fishing, swimming, and camping for the outdoor lovers that live in or visit the area. Pioneer Arizona Living History Museum is a replica of an exact 1880s Arizona Village with volunteers and demonstrations and is located in the El Mirage area.

The White Tanks Mountain Regional Park is located near El Mirage and is a wonderful spot for equally as many outdoor adventures. The park offers 26,000 acres of scenic property and natural beauty that includes Native American artifacts left from centuries ago.

Showing their true family and community spirit, El Mirage puts on the Founders Day celebration every March. This amazing festival offers a parade, fiesta, carnival, and plenty of live music for the whole family to enjoy.
