Desert Hills Arizona Information & History

Desert Hills is a small community that is located in the state of Arizona and is considered to be a subdivision of Phoenix. Despite its small size currently, the Desert Hills area has been growing at a tremendous rate and shows no signs of slowing down. The Desert Hills area may have been a small community at one point but it is managing to become A-list property. The area shares a zip code with Lake Havasu City and though the population is lumped together, the Desert Hills area is said to have around 2,000+ community residents at present.

Desert Hills offers an ideal climate with more than 300 days of sunshine per year. Desert Hills offers a peaceful tranquility that simply cannot be found in the city. It is close enough to Phoenix to have the needed amenities of a big city but it is still far enough that you can sit on your property and hear the coyotes and other forms of local wildlife. This is one of the reasons the area is becoming so popular. It has the location and comfort to offer the best of both worlds to all the residents.

The Desert Foothills Community Theater was established in 1975, and has been entertaining residents and tourists ever since. The Community Theater was started as a way to contribute a better venue for art and culture in the growing neighboring communities including: Carefree and Cave Creek.

There are many historic activities centered in the surrounding area including the old gold mine that was run in 1883. The mine still offers trips through the space to view for interesting historical purposes. There are also many local museums that are sure to educate as well as entertain the whole family. If history does not suit your interests you will find many other acceptable activities that are sure to meet your needs that may include state and local annual events, parks, and community gatherings.
