This doesn’t mean people are going to accept less quality, it means that you will need to find less expensive ways to make your properties shine. This article is all about that. One good thing for you to do is to start by going through the house, this includes the outside, and making a list of anything that needs fixed. Hopefully you will have an advantage and just have a home that needs a picked up and not an overhaul. That can mean the difference between a hundred dollars and a few thousand.

Once you have the basics handled you can move on to the simpler things. It is imperative that you fix all necessary mistakes before you begin adding beauty to the home. No touches you do will be worth it if the home isn’t in order to begin with.

I would think this should go without mentioning but it is one of the cheapest ways to make a home look new – paint. If it hasn’t been, you should paint the walls and trim for the entire house. You could also repaint the home if the colors are not suitable to your needs. If the walls are yellow for example, you may want to paint them an eggshell color to tone it down and allow possible owners more decorating options.

If your front door is a tacky edition to the home you may want to take care of that as well. This will be a little more expensive but remember this is the first thing they are going to see when they look at your home. Other than the outside, the front door is the first real taste of the home that they will have.

One of the first things I would consider in a home is new doors and door handles. If the home has plain brown doors that look similar to plywood and you can’t afford to buy new doors despite them being inexpensive, then you should consider painting them. You could stain them a darker wood color or you could paint them white. Keep in mind that if you aren’t using a spray gun you will need multiple coats layered on by hand. As for the door handles they cost around $10 a piece and are well worth the price you will pay. If you have new doors you cannot use the old handles and if you paint the doors, the old handles will stick out against the newly beautified door.

If the flooring isn’t any good, if it is unattractive and worn in the kitchen and bathrooms then you need to change it. Tile is fairly inexpensive and you are given a wide range of options to choose from. You are guaranteed to find something you like and that you can afford.

Remember that your kitchen and bathrooms are going to be two of the most important rooms. You want these rooms to be excellent in appearance. You can do many things to these rooms to help beautify them. You could add a new shower curtain, add wallpaper trim to the walls, paint your cabinets, and more. These suggestions just depend on how much work and money you will be putting into your investment.

Finally don’t forget the outside. If it is spring add a few flowers to the landscaping to make the home seem alive with warmth. Flowers will attract many people and give them a positive outlook of the home before they even go inside. This is excellent for you because you want people excited to see the home, not regretting that they made an appointment.
